If you have a Kinaesthetic learning style then you probably have a preference for physical experiences such as touching, feeling, holding, doing, practical hands-on experiences.
You probably will be best able to perform a new task by going ahead and trying it out, learning as you go. You like
to experiment, hands-on, and never look at the instructions first!
Kinesthetic learners do best while touching and moving. It also has two subchannels:
kinesthetic (movement) and tactile (touch). They tend to lose concentration if there is little or no external
stimulation or movement. When listening to lectures they may want to take notes for the sake of moving their hands.

Action plan
If you are a kinaesthetic learner, you can help your own learning with the following ideas:
- Break up studying with getting up and moving eg at breaks
- Play music, when appropriate, during activities (eg homework)
- Consider using stress balls to give you something to do with their hands.
- Try to use different sense to help you learn for example, if you use a scented eraser used whilst learning your history notes, using that same eraser in an exam will help you remember the material because it provides a cue for the learning
- Transfer information from one medium to another medium such as from printed material to a keyboard
- To remember work, pace or walk around while saying the words aloud to yourself
- You may not study best at a desk, so when at home try lying on your stomach or back
- Try studying with music in the background
- Make models to help you learn (eg the solar system, plant parts etc)
