What is Your Future, Your Life all about?
What is Your Future, Your Life all about?
Your Future, your Life, is a new project run by the University of Central Lancashire (not your school), aimed at motivating young people to aim higher, attend school more and achieve more. It is being tested in the North West of the UK with you first before being made available to every school across the UK later on.

What is involved?
The project involves you working through the five ‘Modules’ of this Toolkit together with another young person from your school (your Peer Mentor). This will take around five – seven sessions of about half an hour each session.
Is it like school work?
No! The Toolkit is made up of questionnaires which you can score yourself, and information based on what your score is. The Toolkit should be interesting because it is helping you to understand more about yourself and what makes you tick.

Is it confidential?
Yes! Except: if you disclose anything that is a ‘safeguarding issue’ then the appropriate people at your school will be told.
What’s in it for me?
We hope you will enjoy the sessions and completing the Toolkit and really gain from it – for your whole life. When you finish the Toolkit, we will thank you by giving you a Certificate of Completion from the University of Central Lancashire.

Other stuff you should know…

What will you do with the Toolkit when I have finished?
When you have finished, the information sheets within the Toolkit are yours to keep and to look back on in the future; you might find them useful to read again later on. Because we are testing the Toolkit, we will be collecting your scores but will not have your name. We will also be asking your teachers about your participation in class and your attendance, to see if this is different than it was before you started the project. We will also ask you what you thought of the Toolkit so that we can make any changes to it before it goes out nationally.
